urlwatch 1.2 (Default branch)

urlwatch is a script intended to help you watch
URLs and get notified (via email) of any changes.
The change notification will include the URL that
has changed and a unified diff of what has
changed. The script works out of a single
directory, so there is no need to install
anything. State files are kept in the same folder.
The script supports stripping parts of a page that
are always changing through the use of a filter
hook function. It is typically run as a cronjob.

iPhone Wireless Sync with Linux

If you are an owner of an iPhone and would like to sync it wirelessly with Linux, here comes a nice piece of howto for you.

Apple may open up its iPhone and iPod touch devices to third-party apps next month, but the chances that Linux users will get invited to the party are slim at best. That hasn’t stopped some intrepid hackers from coming up with a better music-syncing solution than the one Mac and Windows users have—a two-way wireless transfer, from almost any music organizing app you like, no wait for iTunes or USB cable required. Linux users, let’s take a look at how to set up your iPhone or iPod touch for any-time wireless access after the jump.

Screenshot
Schoorbs is a system to make room and resource
bookings through a Web 2.0 GUI. You can also
interact with it through a REST API. It allows you to book rooms and resources grouped by areas. Activity can be logged via a simple logging interface. The code is automatically tested by several unit tests. The interface can easily be styled through the usage of a template system. Schoorbs produces valid XHTML 1.1 output, has packages for Debian and Ubuntu, and is well documented online.

New Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron)

This is the way I like with Ubuntu. Its a productive distro and the main reason is its user friendly Linux ever (Just my opinion). Last day, I just send email to all my staff. Oh God, they are reply my email with the good comments, even they ask me the CD (hahahaha...become supplier for my office).

Below is the good thing about latest Ubuntu 8.04:

1. The desktop CD allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later.

2. You will need at least 384MB of RAM to install from this CD.

3. Coming on 2 type: Desktop and Server

4. Holy shits...its can install on windows. See picture below. This is the screen shot when you put your CD on your CD drive.

IPlist Protects Torrent Traffic in Linux

iplist_cropped.jpgLinux only: Free IP-filtering application IPlist protects your BitTorrent downloads from third-party snoopers and blockers by controlling which IP addresses can and cannot connect to your system. The default blacklist installed with IPlist is a pretty good start to protecting your torrent privacy, and an "Update" button adds the latest known addresses with bad juju behind them, but the app also lets you add ranges, specific addresses, and other kinds of traffic to allow and block. Simply fire up IPlist before running your BitTorrent client, and the app will do its work.
